Online Training on Defect-Free Welds: Process Control is the Key!

Focus Areas

  • What is Welding? The common part of all welding processes
  • Process Control – What, How, and Why
  • Two groups of welding processes based on bonding  - Fusion and Solid Phase
  • Common parameters often neglected or often taken granted
  • Issues with the conventional Arc Welding Processes
  • Issues with the non-conventional, non-arc ‘modern’ processes

Background

Welding is a 360 deg., 3-dimesional Technology considering its applications. It is needed everywhere in the 2-D physical world around u,s of things and objects in X_Y plane. And is also needed in Z-direction, for Satellites/Rockets going up above our heads, as well for Submarines going deep underwater in the sea. So, the applications and their criticality varies from primitive (Welding of corroded Auto silencer) to most advanced (making a Refinery Cracker or a Nuclear Plant component), depending on situation.

However, one thing common in all welding applications, other than the spelling of welding, is the aspect of quality issues arising while manufacturing.

This webinar attempts to orient the thought process of practicing and responsible shop floor Welding personnel, for analysing the issues critically, in order to find a longer lasting solution. Permanent cure is not feasible as multiple engineering disciplines are at work simultaneously.

Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organising an online training on ”Defect-Free Welds: Process Control is the Key”.

Key Takeaways

  • Understand about – What, How and Why aspects of the welding parameters
  • Take control of the variables and analyse the process
  • Simplify understanding of the Codes and Standards
  • Learn Do’s and Don’ts for achieving defect free welds
